Before Monopoly became a capitalist fever dream, there was Lizzie Magie — a brilliant inventor who wanted to expose the antisocial seductions of land monopoly. Her game was stolen, buried, forgotten…and the world got addicted to the wrong story.
Through the decades came rebels: Anti-Monopoly, Tiers Mundopoly, Bürokratopoly, Polypoly, Palestinepoly… Some banned, some adored, all deliciously subversive.
Now it’s our turn. For one afternoon, we strip Monopoly down to its bones,
tease out its politics, flip its rules, and invent a new game — one that asks who owns space, who gets home, and how we might play together, not against each other.
